Echo Sport preview 4 November 2015
By Simon Walsh
There’s only one place to start in this week’s Echo Sport and that’s with the Dublin SFC final win for Ballyboden St Enda’s, who overcame favorites St Vincents on Sunday in Parnell Park.
We have all the reaction from the win and we look ahead to their Leinster quarter-final against St Pat’s of Drogheda this coming Sunday.
There were also great wins for several juvenile teams from a host of clubs, including St Anne’s, Thomas Davis and Faughs at the weekend.
Added to this there is full coverage of the Cumann na mBunscol finals in Croke Park where there was huge success for loads of local schools.
Away from the GAA, we have reports from the DDSl U14 clash between Landen United and Lucan United, and the LSL Division Two tie between Drumfinn and Inchicore Athletic.
Our Sports editor, Stephen Leonard also speaks to Shamrock Rovers’ Brandon Miele about a super season for the youngster, and we also hear from St Pat’s manager Liam Buckley on securing European football in Inchicore for a sixth season in a row.
There is also a feature on Walkinstown’s Killian Callaghan who has had a remarkable year on the Irish and European mountain biking scene, and he speaks about his hopes for 2016.
Powerlifter and Tallaght native Alan Mahoney was competing at the recent World Powerlifting Championships and we have news of some record-breaking lifts from him, plus there’s all the latest from St Mary’s RFC, Clondalkin RFC, and an impressive win for IT Tallaght soccer team against Carlow IT.
If that wasn’t enough, some of the best and brightest young boxers in the locality were competing at the National Intermediate Championships recently, and we’ve somehow jammed in the news of success for both N7 Boxing Club and Crumlin Boxing Club.
As always, if we’ve missed anything get in touch and don’t forget to grab your copy of the Echo on sale this Thursday.
