Enda’s hurlers set for Na Fianna test

ALL eyes will be on Parnell Park this weekend as Ballyboden St Enda’s senior hurlers go head to head with Na Fianna in the County Final in Parnell Park.

The Firhouse Road side will be hoping to secure the title for the first time since 2018 and going on recent performances they will fancy their chances of going all the way.

However, they can take nothing for granted against the Mobhi Road outfit who are looking to win the title for the first time having lost in the final for the past two years.

Boden last reached the county final in 2020 and this year they have put together a string of fine results and were pushed all the way by St Vincent’s in the semis when it went to extra time.

Enda’s overcame St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh in the group stages along with St Vincent’s and Faughs before beating Cuala in the quarter-final.

In the semis two weeks ago, Boden were pushed right to the limit when extra time had to be forced to separate the teams and keeper Conor O’Donoghue saved a last minute penalty from Tom Connolly.

Former Dublin player Paul Ryan has led by example this season along withy Shane Durkin while Pearce Christie is another player who has impressed in attack.

Boden will also be hoping that Timmy Hammersley and Niall Ryan can deliver along with Kevin Desmond and Niall McMorrow against a Na Fianna team hoping to make up for their final defeats over the past two years.

Na Fianna have also had a good run in the campaign having beat Kilmacud Crokes in the quarter-final and then Faughs in the semis.

AJ Murphy has been one of the Na Fianna stars this season along with Colin and Sean Currie and they will have to be watched closely by Boden if they are to go all the way.
