The top award was in addition to winning Project Management Firm of the Year as well as Tourism & Hospitality Project of the Year for their work on the Gobbins Coastal Pathway in Northern Ireland.

More than 500 distinguished industry professionals attended the third annual Irish Construction Industry Awards ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by Irish comedian Kevin McGahern of Republic of Telly fame and a total of 23 prestigious trophies were presented to the best leaders, organisations and projects within the industry.

The Engineering Firm of the Year category recognises the best engineering firm operating in Ireland over the last 12 months.

Judges looked for evidence of the quality of work firms do for clients on landmark projects and commercial strength, while maintaining a record for continually high levels of service.

The Project Management Firm of the Year award recognises the most outstanding project and construction management firm in Ireland while the Tourism & Hospitality Project of the Year Award recognises excellence in the construction of a tourism building.

“It was an honour to be awarded Engineering Firm of the Year for the second year in a row and it’s a tribute to every staff member within the ByrneLooby community who work to ensure a high level of technical excellence and full commitment to clients on a daily basis,” said John Byrne, Joint Managing Director of ByrneLooby.

“We were delighted to also pick up the awards for Project Management Firm of the Year and Tourism & Hospitality Project of the Year. All three awards are a tribute to our success as an Irish and international company and we look forward to continuing this success into the future.” he added.

One of the judges on the night, Dermot Reidy, Senior Development Adviser at Enterprise Ireland, also congratulated ByrneLooby on their massive achievement.

“Three awards represent a phenomenal achievement for a consulting engineering business and reflects the company and the standards of its appointments as well as the quality of its projects,” Reidy said.

The aim of the Irish Construction Awards is to recognise, encourage and celebrate original and innovative contractors, businesses, teams, consultants and projects that demonstrate excellence in the build environment.
