Family celebrates their fifth generation with the birth of beautiful baby Amelia

By Mary Dennehy

FIVE generations of one Tallaght family have been captured in this picture, with the family line extended two weeks ago when little baby Amelia Byrne arrived on the scene.

Born in the Coombe maternity hospital, little Amelia is her family’s first great-great-grandchild and is pictured here with her mother Rebecca Byrne (21), her grandmother Donna Byrne (40), her great-grandmother Catherine Byrne (62) and her great-great-grandmother, Agnes Walsh (84).

Amelia, her mother Rebecca and grandmother Donna live in Jobstown while her great grandmother Catherine and great-great-grandmother Agnes are from Rathcoole.

Amelia’s mam Rebecca told The Echo: “It’s lovely to have so many generations of the one family together in a photograph.

“I’m delighted for Amelia that she has all of these generations of women to look out for her.
“It’s really nice for her . . . and no doubt there’ll be plenty of advice and words of wisdom for her as she gets older.”
