A BOXING tournament in aid of Family Carers Ireland is taking to the ring on Friday, September 30 – with money raised going to support local families and services across South and West Dublin.

Organised by Tallaght resident Des Coffey, who was awarded Carer of the Year 2014, and Rachel Rogers, Family Carers Support Officer, the fundraising bout is being hosted by Crumlin Boxing Club in aid of Family Carers Ireland – which was created in 2016 through the merger of The Carers Association and Caring for Carers.

The merger brought the best of both charities together while broadening the range of supports and services to family carers and creating one national voice to represent fairness for carers.

Funds raised by Crumlin boxing Club will go to support the work of the charity in local communities across Dublin South and Dublin West.

On the Friday night of the tournament, doors open at7.30 with tickets at €30 each or €50 for two – including food and entertainment.
