Firearm and drugs in excess of €21k seized

DRUGS in excess of €21,000 and a firearm were seized in Ronanstown this week.

According to a Garda statement issued, the seizure was part of a day of action in the DMR West district on Monday, October 9.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai attached to the Ronanstown Drugs Unit within the Lucan District, carried out a search at a location in Ronanstown.

“Over the course of this search, Gardai seized over €21,000 in drugs. Diamorphine with an estimated street value of €10,500, cocaine worth €9,170, dalmaine tablets with a value of €1,400 and a small quantity of cannabis was seized.

“A firearm was also seized along with a quantity of ammunition.”

All of the suspected drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis and the firearm will undergo analysis at the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau.

“No arrests have been made”, the spokesperson said.

“Investigations ongoing.”
