Firearm seized in Brookfield one man arrested

GARDAI have seized a loaded firearm and arrested one man following a search operation that took place following a firearms incident that occurred on Saturday night, October 30, at Brookfield Road, Tallaght.

According to a Garda statement released, a firearm was discharged at a residential property in Tallaght at approximately 10.30pm.

No persons were injured during the incident and as a result of investigations two search warrants were obtained pursuant to Section 29 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 to search two properties in Tallaght.

The search operation took place this afternoon, Wednesday, November 3, and during the course of the search a loaded shotgun was seized.

One man (aged 20 years) was arrested at the scene under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939 and is currently detained at Tallaght Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
