First book for Templeogue writer Lin
By Mary Dennehy
WHEN accomplished writers are asked to give advice to budding authors, they usually encouraged them to write a story that they would like to read.
This was the case for Templeogue mam Lin Keaveney, who, working in Tallaght, recently had her first book published by Austin McCauley Publishers.
A fan of movies, travelling, digital photography and reading, Lin told The Echo how she always wanted to pen a children’s book, and took inspiration from her family and their pets in creating the beautifully simple story of Princess the Cavalier King Charles puppy.
Set in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, this is a story that any young child, or adult, can relate to – with the engaging tale being told from the dog’s perspective.
With the book now available to buy on Amazon, Lin took five to speak with her local paper.
Why a children’s book?
I’ve always wanted to write a children’s book and I love animals, so Princess was the obvious thing for me to do. It’s a fun, fantasy book and I think children will enjoy the story as it is written from a dog’s point of view and also learn something from it.
