David Burke, Jason Beresford, Ross Callery, Graham Palmer and Gerard Stevens were all convicted of manslaughter for their part in the New Year’s Day attack in 2014, which led to Dale Creighton’s death.

On Monday the men were sentenced to between three years and seven and a half years, with all five being sent to Mountjoy.

Reports suggest the men were to be moved to Portlaoise Prison at some stage this week, but because of the altercation, that process was brought forward.

The Irish Prison Service said they had no comment to make about the incident at this time.
