Flagship Movrs footwear store to open near Westbury hotel
CLONDALKIN native Brian Ormond announced the opening of his new premium footwear store in the city centre this week.
The radio and TV presenter will open the first Movrs store off Dublin’s Grafton Street, as well as an online shop this Friday.
His partners are Sunil Shah and Paul Gallagher, who operate the Skechers franchise, and Alan McGovern of iZest Marketing.
The shop is located at 4 Harry Street, opposite the Westbury Hotel.
The premises previously housed fashion brand Jack Wills for more than a decade and before that, the Berry Bros & Rudd wine shop.
Ormond and his partners have signed a ten-year lease on the three-storey period property with an annual rent starting at €170,000, according to the commercial property price register.
The flagship store will sell multiple brands, and it is likely that other outlets will follow.
Ormond shared some snaps of the exterior of the store on his Instagram page.
He wrote: “It’s been a long time coming but it’s happening soon. So excited to launch online and open our flagship store on Harry Street.”
Ormond became known for his presenting roles on shows such as ‘You’re a Star’ and ‘Sattitude’ in the early 2000s.
Married to Pippa O’Connor, the couple previously introduced the world to their POCO brand which has reportedly recorded more than €1 million in profits since its launch in 2016, according to the Irish Business Post.
