Flock poised to contest JSCC series in UK

DÁIRE Flock from Tallaght is poised to race Citroen Saxo in the Junior Saloon Car Championship in the UK this year.

The 14-year-old will be one of 30 drivers battling it out over ten rounds for the prestigious championship which caters for 14-17-year-old competitors.

Taking place on some of the UK’s most famous circuits such as Silverstone and Brands Hatch, the JSCC series will see Flock in among the first-year drivers also competing for the Rookie Cup.

Competing with the Westbourne Motorsport Team, Flock is relishing this latest challenge which is set to kick off next month.

“I went to the UK to drive a Westbourne Race-prepared Citroen Saxo and from that test, the team invited me to drive with them for 2022” explained Flock.

“I have done a lot of testing with karts and sim racing, and I am very excited to be racing for Westbound and to be racing in the JSCC this year.

“Pre-season testing has gone well, and I am looking forward to the season ahead” he added.

Westbourne Motorsport boss, Ben Colburn is looking forward to seeing just how the latest addition to his team fares this season, saying  “We are really pleased to have Dáire onboard with us for this year.

“Pre-season testing has gone really well so far for Dáire, and I am very impressed with his quick progress and willingness to learn.

“I am confident by the end of the season we can get Dáire fighting up the sharp end in only his first year and especially go for that Rookie Cup.”
