Flying Elephant event company reinvents it’s business model

A TALLAGHT based event company which collapsed when Covid-19 arrived have reinvented their business model.
Pre-pandemic, Flying Elephant had 60 commissions for stages and sets for exhibitions and concerts, all of which were cancelled overnight.

However, Founders Michael Keelan and Max Fox of the Cookstown based business, pivoted to creating products in time for Christmas.
This allowed 17 jobs to be saved. Some of the designs they worked on over Summer were created with remote workers in mind, including a desk that can be assembled quickly and is easy to store.
This week, they launched their brand new online Christmas shop with 100 per cent Irish made toys gifts and home office solutions.
Michael Keelan (29) co-founder of Flying Elephant said: “Our top priority was to keep our skilled workforce and brilliant designers employed.
“We also have the machines and the right people that allow us to manufacture new innovations so we decided to come up with solutions for people using every resource available.
“The Christmas shop is a whole new departure for us and we are immensely proud of the collection we have created which is 100 per cent Irish, supports Irish Jobs and our suppliers.”
The range of products also includes kids chef stations, a scooter or skateboard rack, home schooler desk/chair combo and the Elephant-Rabbit toy shelf from €149.
The Christmas Range includes an intricate IsoKing Christmas tree and a game table topper.
Meanwhile, the ‘Work From Home’ range includes a monitor stand and lapdesk.
