Football club pay respects to Padraic

ESKER Celtic FC held a minutes applause at all matches following the death of one of their U8 coaches Padraic Ryan.

Mr Ryan, from Lucan, was fatally injured following a collison with a van which occurred on the Naas Road inbound at Kingswood at 4.15am on Sunday, September 30, last.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene. Mr Ryan was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

Mr Ryan is survived by his wife Rebecca and their three children, his parents Marie and Paddy, brothers, Damien, Martin and Darren and sister Maria, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends.

The Gardai have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the accident.

A Garda spokesman said: “The Gardai investigating the incident wish to renew their appeal for witnesses who may have travelled this stretch of road in the early hours of the 30th and in particular any taxi drivers or motorists who have not come forward to date.

“Witnesses are asked to contact Clondalkin Garda Station on 01 666 7600, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”
