Four people are hospitalised after escaping from house fire

FOUR people were hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries after a house fire on Aylmer Drive in Newcastle in the early hours of Monday morning (March 18).

Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene and extinguished the blaze, and gardaí were also in attendance after they received reports of suspected criminal damage by fire.

On Monday morning, gardaí appealed for witnesses to come forward, particularly people who were in the area at the time of the fire and who might have dashcam footage.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Newcastle/Rathcoole area of county Dublin between 4am and 5:30am are asked to make this footage available to gardaí,” said a garda spokesperson.

The Echo contacted a garda spokesperson on Wednesday morning to ask if there were any updates in the investigation.

The spokesperson confirmed that there were no further updates, but investigations are ongoing.
