“A scrambler bike collided with a car. Four persons, details currently unknown, have been taken to hospital with what are described as non-serious injuries. Two persons were taken to St. James' Hospital and two have been taken to Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin”

The road is partially closed and local diversions are in place. Investigations are ongoing.

Sinn Féin Dublin City Councillor Daithí Doolan, chair of the Joint Policing Committee said this evening: “The serious accident involving a scrambler and a delivery man has left four people in hospital”.

“This community feels it is being held to ransom by scramblers. The situation is out of control. It must be tackled head on.

“This is the second accident in Ballyfermot involving a scrambler in just over a week. We need Gardaí to be given adequate powers to arrest and charge those speeding on scramblers on roads and public areas. I fear it is only a matter of time before someone is killed by one of these scramblers”.
