PARK WEST protein bar maker Fulfil have secured a distribution deal giving them access to over 13,500 Spar International stores worldwide.
Spar Ireland owner BWG Foods nominated Fulfil and Kildare-based drinks maker Mude, as part of the group’s Challenger Brand Programme – which connects the global Spar network with pioneering food brands that have strong international growth potential.
Fulfill who are based in Park West have secured a distribution deal giving them access to over 13,500 Spar International stores worldwide
“From working closely with the teams in Fulfil and Mude, and from observing how they successfully disrupted the Irish market in their respective categories, it’s clear that these brands have significant potential for international growth,” said Simon Marriott, chief operations officer at BWG Foods.
The deal provides Fulfil access to buying teams in the 48 countries in which Spar International operates.
Each of the 48 markets in which the retailer has a presence is given the opportunity to nominate local brands which they believe are capable of disrupting the wider food and beverage industry.
Fulfil and Mude are the first Irish brands to secure places in the programme and obtain international commercial agreements as a result.
Tobias Wasmuht, CEO of Spar International, said the agreements would offer a global platform to both companies to replicate their success and grow together with Spar worldwide.
BWG Foods said Fulfil was selected due to its track record of disrupting the protein bar category through its portfolio of innovative products that prioritise protein, vitamins, and low sugar.
As a prerequisite, both brands were required to demonstrate their ability to uphold robust supply chains in meeting increased international demand as they continue to expand.
