Funding available for local groups from Town and Village Renewal Scheme

LOCAL community, business and other interested groups in towns and villages in South County Dublin are being invited to apply for funding from the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

The funding, which is provided by the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, is to be used to support the revitalisation of villages and towns and to assist in increasing economic activities.

This year’s scheme is targeting two categories of towns and villages; category one is for towns and villages with a population of less than 5,000 people, and category two is for towns with a population of 5,001 up to 10,000 people.

Up to 80 per cent of the total cost of a project under the scheme will be provided for any individual project.

The minimum grant which is available is €20,000, while the maximum is €100,000.
