The Gaelforce event asks participants to dig deep in a test of mental and physical strength on a course of running, cycling and kayaking over either 49km or 29km.

The breakdown is a short run of 10-15km followed by a lengthy cycle on a Coillte forest gravel track, all the way to a reservoir where tandem kayaks will be waiting, before a final run to the finish line.

Gaelforce Dublin 2018 took place in February and the event was a huge success in which nearly 700 participants took place.

The event started in Tallaght Stadium and finished back in the stadium.

While racing through South Dublin County competitors passed renowned landmarks and breath-taking scenery such as Tallaght Stadium, the Square Tallaght, the River Dodder, Bohernabreena Reservoir, Kippure Mountains and much more.

There was four groups in the running for the award – Dublin 7’s 2017, Gaelforce Dublin 2017, Rith na Lochanna 5k and Tour de Picnic 2017.
