Gardaí arrest man and seize firearm

GARDAI arrested a man in his 40s and seized a firearm in an operation in Tallaght today. 

The operation was led by the M District Drugs Unit, assisted by Tallaght District Detective Unit and local Gardai.

According to a Garda statement released this evening, the firearm was discovered when gardai searched a residence in the Rossfield Crescent area of Tallaght this afternoon, Thursday, July 23.

The man is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
