Gardaí hurt after vehicle pursuit on Nangor Road
Two members of An Garda Síochána have been injured following a pursuit on Nangor Road in Clondalkin in the early hours of this morning.
Shortly before 1 am on Tuesday, October 20, a vehicle failed to stop for Gardaí on mobile patrols as part of proactive anti-crime operations.
A managed containment operation involving multiple Garda units was initiated, and a Garda vehicle was damaged during the pursuit.
The suspect car came to a stop at Cruagh Road in Rathfarnham, and three occupants were arrested at the scene.
A Garda spokesperson said the driver, an adult male in his late teens, is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in south Dublin.
The other suspects – two teenage males – have been released pending further enquiries.
The car, which was recently reported stolen, will be subject to forensic and technical examination.
Two male Gardaí who were in the Garda vehicle were taken to hospital for assessment and have since been discharged.
Investigations are currently ongoing.
