Gardai investigate attempted mugging of woman in her sixties
GARDAI are investigating the attempted robbery of a woman’s handbag on the Ballycullen Road yesterday evening, January 17, at around 7.30pm.
According to local reports, the woman, who is in her sixties, was allegedly approached near the Dalriada bus stop on the Ballycullen Road.
In a statement to The Echo this morning, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating a robbery from a person on the 17th January 2019.
“The incident occurred on the Ballycullen Road.
“A woman in her 60s was allegedly approached by a male who attempted to steal her handbag.
“The man fled empty handed.”
According to the spokesperson, no injuries were reported during the incident which occurred at around 7.30pm.
Investigations are ongoing and anybody who witnessed the incident or has any information is encouraged to contact Rathfarnham Garda Station on 6666500.
