Gardai investigate serious assault on the grounds of Wheatfield prison

TWO males were allegedly assaulted by a number of men on the grounds of Wheatfield Prison earlier today.
Gardai are investigating a serious assault that occurred on the Cloverhill Road, Clondalkin, shortly before 3pm, on Wednesday, February 5.

The injured males aged in their 20s and 40s were taken to Tallaght University Hospital by car, with serious injuries.
Shortly after the incident, a vehicle with a number of occupants on board, was stopped by gardai on the Kennelsfort Road.
A number of arrests were made at the scene, and all the individuals were arrested.
They have been detained across garda stations in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The scene has been cleared and the vehicle involved has been taken away for technical examination.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are appealing to anyone travelling in both directions on the Cloverhill Road, between 2.30pm and 3.15pm to come forward.
They are particularly appealing to road users with camera footage (including dashcam) to make it available to investigators at the incident room at Lucan Garda Station.”
Investigations are ongoing.
