Golden Mile’s Glam Room duo pull in the clients in Ballyfermot

STARTING a business requires a lot of courage, something not in short supply for Becky Kearney (19) and business partner Courtney Carey.

The pair might be young, but they have established in Ballyfermot their very own business – The Glam Room – providing a wide range of make-up services to customers.

Located at the Golden Mile on Ballyfermot Road, the venture only opened a month ago, but the pair are steadily building the company’s profile, and have shown astute business skills to generate foot traffic.

Tallaght native Becky said: “It’s starting to get busy. This is the busy season with a lot of weddings, parties and events on. We do a lot of body contour, full makeovers, full face including lashes, special effects, diamantes and face art.”

The pair had a bit of support from family members to kick-start the business, but despite the challenge, neither was afraid to begin their entrepreneurial adventure.

“It was a little bit daunting at first, but we thought why not,” said Becky, who studied beauty and hair at Crumlin College, and gained extensive knowledge of the industry through work experience.

“We identified a need for a place like this in Ballyfermot, and have noticed an increase in footfall in recent weeks.”
Customers on the Glam Room Facebook page, have been praising their skills.

Erica CJ said: “Two amazing artists. We loved our make-up. Being a make-up artist myself, I can be so picky with who does my make-up, but I was so happy. Defo be back again.”

The Glam Room is open Thursday to Sunday – check out regular special offers on their Facebook page.
