Grandad Matt to appear on Ireland’s Got Talent

A BALLYFERMOT grandad who sings and a Tallaght man who is a drag performer will be taking to the Ireland’s Got Talent Stage this Saturday to perform in front of the talent show’s panel of judges.
Matt Dodd (68), who is a bus driver for a care home in Palmerstown, was encouraged to apply for the talent competition by his four grandchildren, so that he can bring his passion for singing to the big stage.

Matt will perform Tom Jones’ ‘I Who Have Nothing’ on the TV programme, which will be a new challenge for the talented singer who normally leads sing-songs in the nursing home where he works.
Elsewhere, 30-year-old Tallaght dance teacher Paul Ryder’s drag act will be centre stage at the talent competition where his performance will feature a segue from ‘Uptown Funk’ into ‘Sissy That Walk’, with backing dancers adding to the performance.
Paul has been perfecting his drag act over the last ten years, he has toured with some major drag acts, and one of his videos was shared by RuPaul from RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Paul’s dream is to front his own entertainment company and to create new ways to work with other acts.
