Green light for construction of new Lidl on Old Nangor Road

PERMISSION has been granted for the construction of a Lidl supermarket at Kilcarbery and Deansrath on the Old Nangor Road in Clondalkin. 

The German supermarket chain’s plans include the development of a single-storey discount food store supermarket with ancillary off-licence sales.

The construction of a single-storey cafe building measuring 146sqm in overall floor space, is included.

The provision of an interim/temporary vehicular and pedestrian access point to the eastern site boundary to Corkagh Grange Avenue/ Ash Green forms part of the plans. Associated car-parking, cycle-parking, free-standing and building-signage, a free[1]standing trolley bay cover/enclosure, refrigeration and air-conditioning plant and equipment are also proposed.

Roof-mounted solar panels, public lighting, hard and soft landscaping, boundary treatments, drainage infrastructure and connections to services/utilities are also included.

On November 15, South Dublin County Council granted planning permission for the development of the new supermarket.
