Handguns, silencers and ammunition seized in Clondalkin

GARDAI seized two handguns, three silencers and 105 rounds of 9mm ammunition during an intelligence led operation in Clondalkin on Thursday evening, September 9.

The search operation was conducted by gardai from Ronanstown Garda station, with assistance from Ronanstown Detective unit.

According to a Garda statement released on Friday, September 10, the search operation was conducted following intelligence received relating to an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in Clondalkin.

The Garda statement released said: “A domestic premises was searched in a residential estate.

“During the course of the search a small amount of cannabis herb was seized along with two handguns, three silencers and 105 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

“All firearms have been sent to the Ballistics Unit for analysis.

“No persons were arrested during the search and investigations ongoing.”
