A spokesperson from Harvey Norman confirmed to The Echo that the flagship store in Tallaght has, in anticipation of the Christmas period, hired 13 new members of staff since September, who are fully trained up ahead of tomorrow's massive Black Friday sale.

Locally, Harvey Norman is gearing up to one of its busiest periods of the year – slashing prices on all their appliances, technology and interior goods.

Some of the most lucrative deals Harvey Norman Tallaght is offering is their sale of up to 60 per cent off bedroom furniture, with other offers including €400 off laptops and 30 per cent off TVs.

Urging shoppers to get in early, CEO of Harvey Norman, Blaine Callard said: “The shape of our peak period has changed radically over the past few years, Black Friday is now the busiest trading period for Harvey Norman Ireland.

“During the Black Friday period we sell over 12,000 laptops, phones and tablets, over 10,000 big screen TV’s, over 6,000 coffee machines and over 7,000 sets of headphones and speakers.”

Mr Callard then continued about the massive growth of the now annual sale.

“Black Friday has gone from being a single day, to being a much bigger shopping and promotional period; it’s longer every year and it’s getting bigger not smaller,” he said.

Located on the corner of the Airton and Greenhills Road, the store will open from 9.30am to 8pm tomorrow evening, with sales also being launched on kitchen appliances, recliner sofas, dining room furniture coffee machines, iPhones and more.
