Have you a project idea that could positively impact on your area?

INDIVIDUALS, clubs, groups and charities are encouraged to apply for the Tallaght Fund, before it closes to applications this Saturday, December 17.

The Tallaght Fund is a social enterprise fund for the area, which aims to support the community in creating innovative, sustainable and inclusive projects.

All you have to do is send a two-minute video on Whatsapp about your idea/project with contact details as the video caption to 089 4243566.

Also state which grant you are applying for – €1,000; €5,000; €10,000; €20,000 or €25,000.

The annual €100k fund is being delivered by the Síol Foundation, which, founded by Tallaght philanthripist Ed Dunne, offers sustainable support to social entrepreneurs, community projects and social enterprises nationwide.

Last year, 13 grassroot projects in Tallaght were funded through the initiative.

Speaking with The Echo when the Tallaght Fund launched, Ed said: “We’re looking for inclusive projects, that have a significant social benefit.

“We approach this like entrepreneurs, we take a risk and don’t just go for the big organisations that have been around for a long time, we work with small organisations too and support people [who may not get funding elsewhere].

“If you think you have a project that can make a social difference, have a go.”
