Heavy traffic delays across Ballyfermot and Lucan this morning

There are serious traffic delays across Dublin this morning due to road traffic accidents, heavy rain and rush hour traffic.

In Ballyfermot an accident on Sarsfield Road at the Landen Road junction with Landen Road is causing major delays.

Units from Dublin Fire Brigade are at the scene, and motorists are advised to take care in the area.

Meanwhile, those travelling from Lucan to Castleknock and on to Clonsilla are experiencing major delays, with lengthy tailbacks due to the closure of Tower Road after an overnight accident.

Motorists have also been warned to take care on the M50 as large amounts of standing water and heavy traffic are contributing to delays right across the motorway.
