Blanchardstown District Court
Presenting Sergeant Maria Callaghan told Judge David McHugh that on the above date, Wilson stayed in the hotel having used a credit card number to make a booking the previous night.
Judge McHugh heard that when Finnstown House Hotel attempted to retrieve payment for the booking, the card was declined.
Sgt Callaghan said the room cost €109 and it was not paid.
She said Wilson later met with gardai by appointment and was arrested and charged with the offence before the court.
Wilson had previously pleaded guilty but Judge McHugh asked to hear an outline of the facts again.
Wilson’s solicitor, John O’Doherty, asked Judge McHugh to deal with the case as leniently as possible.
Judge McHugh dismissed the charge with the benefit of the Probation Act, leaving Wilson without a criminal conviction.
