Is it too late to book a flight back?

Is it too late to book a flight back?

AFTER a thrilling three months in Europe and an amazing internship at The Echo, life will never compare back in the States, London Brazal reports on her time in Ireland.

Starting at the beginning, I was accepted into a study abroad and internship program with the Foundation of International Education (FIE). I took four classes at Dublin Business School, lived in the Liberties, and interned at the best newspaper company ever, The Echo.

Being professionally published for the first time was such an accomplishment and I am so grateful for Brenda Mockler and The Echo team who welcomed me into their family.

Writing for the paper was a rewarding experience and expanded my passion for journalism. Contacting locals for stories was gratifying. Everyone I talked to was compassionate and their excitement to help was heartwarming. It was so fulfilling to open up the newspaper on Thursdays and say, “I wrote that! And that one!”

While abroad, I visited five other countries besides Ireland but got to explore the island in-depth. My favorite sites included Glendalough, the Burren region, and the Giant’s Causeway. The pictures saved in my camera roll will forever put a smile on my face and help me to remember all of the precious memories.

Ironically enough, after writing numerous stories, it is hard to find the right words now. Almost every day since I have been back home, I ask myself, “Is it too late to book a flight back?” Dublin has become my second home that I hope to return to one day, maybe for longer than three months. I will always cherish the friends, connections, and memories I made.

Again, I am truly grateful for The Echo and all they have done to support me while I was working there. Until our paths cross again, thank you.
