JORDAN’S SuperValu in Fortunestown is buzzing this morning after it was announced that the Tallaght store sold last night’s winning EuroMillions Plus ticket worth €500,000.

According to National Lottery, the winning ticket was bought in Jordan’s SuperValu on Monday, July 18, for Tuesday night’s draw.

Shop owner, Alan Jordan was delighted to get the call about the Tuesday night win: “The sun may have dropped in other parts of the country but it’s certainly shining on Jordan’s Supervalu this morning!

“We’re a local shop serving the community over 20 years and we’re absolutely delighted we’ve sold the winning ticket.

“We’d be even happier if it’s someone local.

“We wish the winner all the best with their winnings.

“There will be a fantastic buzz around the shop and community today.”

Players in the capital are being encouraged to check their tickets carefully, with the winner advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe.

According to the National Lottery, the Dublin winner was part of a historic night after a UK ticket holder scooped the EuroMillions jackpot top prize of €230 million – the biggest amount ever seen in Europe.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games go back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language.

Some €289m was raised for Good Causes in communities nationwide in 2021, the National Lottery said.
