Jobstown water march planned for this weekend

JOBSTOWN has continued to fuel national debate after an anti-water protest on Saturday, which saw Tanaiste Joan Burton confined to her car for two-and-a-half hours, sparked a storm of JoanBurtonProtestcommentary and criticism – mainly surrounding the deployment of the Garda Public Order Unit to protect the Tanaiste and deal with incidents of “violence”.
Over recent days, multiple versions of what happened outside An Cosán education centre have been broadcast and batted about – at the expense of a community which has overcome much adversity to build itself into a vibrant, progressive place.
This week that community is reuniting and organising a peaceful march around Jobstown, followed by a family fun day, and anybody who cannot gather peacefully is asked to stay away.
