Jordan’s SuperValu proud of its ‘born and bred’ roots

THE fifth anniversary bash was held this week for a store proud of its ‘born and bred in Tallaght’ roots.

Jordan’s SuperValu in Fortunestown Shopping Centre is part of the Jordan’s Group, and employs 50 local people.

Owner Alan Jordan is himself ‘Tallaght born and bred’, as is the manager of Jordan’s SuperValu in Fortunestown – Stephen Callaghan.

The previous manager of the store is another ‘Tallaght born and bred’ person Sarah O’Reilly, who still works for the Jordan Group as an operations manager.

“That is something that we are very proud of,” said Alan Jordan.

“We closed five years ago because of a fire, re-opened and it has gone really well, the community has responded very well to us.

“We employ a team of 50 local people.

“We support local clubs and organisations in the community, and we provide some support to local schools and clubs. We would like to think we have been a support for the community and we look forward to continuing our support for the community in the coming years.”

In total, the Jordan Group operates nine Centra and SuperValu stores in the Dublin and Kildare region, employing over 300 people.

At Jordan’s SuperValu in Fortunestown this week, the store held a celebration to thank the community for their support over the years, and much fun was had on the day, including free goodies and live entertainment.
