Kayla cuts 16 inches of hair to raise €4k for two charities

A YOUNG girl cut 16 inches of hair off her locks – raising close to €4k for charity in the process.
Kayla Jebb (12), from Kilteel, decided to make her quarantine home hair cut count by donating it to charities at home and abroad.

The venture raised €3,305 for the LauraLynn Foundation, along with her hair and €600 to the Little Princess Trust in the UK.
An avid member of Clondalkin Rugby club girls under 12 team, Kayla let her young nephews (aged six, six and three) cut a ponytail each, and her brother Karl (26) tidied it up.
“She likes her new hair. Karl made it liveable and he is not too bad. He has been doing my hair for the last number of weeks,” said Winston Jebb, Kayla’s father.
“Kayla was talking about cutting her hair for the last six months. She wanted to donate her hair to the Irish Rapunzel charity but that was not possible due to Covid-19, so the hair has gone to Little Princess Trust (to make a wig for a child with cancer), along with €600.
“She also raised €3,305 for the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice which was her chosen Irish charity.”
Taking to her fundraising page on Sunday holding three zip bags containing her locks, Kayla thanked everyone who supported the campaign.
