Kelly’s Trek 4Life
By Echo Reporter
Former reality tv star Kelly Donegan from Kilnamanagh prepares to take on Kilimanjaro as part of the Irish Cancer Society’s Trek4Life 2016.
Kilimanjaro, known as the Roof of Africa, soars to a height of 5,895 metres. It’s the world’s highest free-standing mountain and the highest point in all of Africa.
The average trekker can complete the climb in five to six days, but it has been scaled by a wheelchair user, a South African, who took only nine days to reach the summit the first time and six days when he climbed it again.
