Killinarden CS granted €6k from Henkel programme

THANKS to Henkel Ireland’s ‘Make an Impact on Tomorrow’ and Social Partnership programmes, Killinarden Community School, has been granted funding of €6,000 to support its extracurricular music and singing classes.

These vital funds will allow for the continuation of this important music programme in the school.

Henkel is also engaging with the school on other key initiatives for the upcoming academic year, including activities in the area of science engagement. This further highlights Henkel’s commitment to sustainability and supporting the local community.

Dr Liam O’Dwyer, Head of Product Development Household and Repair Adhesives, Henkel, said: “We are delighted to secure this funding for Killinarden Community School, as several of our employees are past pupils.

Henkel is committed to supporting local schools, contributing to sustainability and the environment. I recently visited the school to speak to the students on Henkel, and its activities, both globally, and locally here in Tallaght. The students were very interested in this area and it’s safe to say the future of sustainability is bright.”

Adrienne Whelan, Principal of Killinarden Community School said: “We are delighted to receive this funding from Henkel, which will be matched by South Dublin County Council. This funding is significant for Killinarden Community School as this type of extracurricular is key for our students and their development.

“We look forward to working with the Henkel team in the coming year and learning more about their work in Tallaght, in particular the area of sustainability.”

Henkel, the company behind many well-known brands such as Pritt, Sellotape, Unibond, Loctite, Right Guard and Schwarzkopf, is located in Tallaght and Ballyfermot.
