Kingswood salon chosen as training centre for new all-Irish nail brand

A TALLAGHT hair and beauty salon has been chosen as the Dublin training centre for a new all-Irish nail brand, which is proving a hit with leading industry professionals and salons right across the country.

Living in Citywest, Lorraine McDermott, who is the owner of the Tan Fairy hair and beauty salon and advanced therapy clinic in Kingswood, has been appointed as the Dublin educator for The Manicure Company – a company established in 2016, which provided the professional nail market with high quality products, services and training.

The Manicure Company, which has been successful beyond expectations in such a short period of time, recently appointed 10 nationwide educators to ensure their products are used correctly – with the coveted position in Dublin being awarded to Lorraine.

Working in the beauty industry for the past 12 years, Lorraine, who grew up in Templeogue, opened the Tan Fairy six years ago and provides a full hair, beauty and advanced therapy service in her Kingswood salon – which is led by four multi-disciplined staff.

Lorraine told The Echo: “We are very excited and honoured to be chosen by The Manicure Company.

“I think they saw the passion we have for nails and as a salon we are known for being highly skilled and fashion forward.

“We are constantly training, upskilling and trying to keep ahead of industry trends and changes.”

Lorraine, who is a qualified educator, has excelled as a nail technician and now, through her academy based in her Kingswood salon, is offering gel nails/gel polish courses and basic nail art courses – with acrylic and salon or advanced nail technician conversion courses being added in the coming months.

“All courses are run with small class sizes to ensure the student graduates the course feeling confident and competent in their newly acquired skill”, Lorraine said.

“Just like the friendly and personal service we provide to our salon customers, those taking part in our courses will be supported in their learning, and I’m always on hand to help.

“The courses are open to all levels from complete beginners to established nail technicians looking to upskill.”

All courses are AIT (Associated Irish Therapists) certified, which provides students with industry required qualifications needed to obtain insurance and employment in the nail industry.

All courses also come with The Manicure Company Kit, and a ten per cent discount on product to support graduates in building their kit further.
