
Lidl reopens new Fortunestown store
FOLLOWING four months of construction, Lidl Ireland today reopened its new, multi-million Euro store in Fortunestown.
The store, which was officially opened this morning, has increased in size by 70 per cent, with 50 per cent more parking, additional tills, wider shopping aisles and, for staff, a new training room and extended welfare area.

The new store also incorporates a range of strategies to reduce environmental impact.
Following events last March, which saw the store partially demolished by a stolen digger during Storm Emma, the staff at Fortunestown were deployed to other Lidl stores in the area.
This team alongside nine new recruits have returned to Fortunestown, with Store Manager Ruth Shanley.

The Fortunestown team, are part of the 450 people employed by Lidl in the immeicate area through the operation of five stores and a Head Office in Tallaght.
According to Manager Ruth Shanley: “On behalf of the entire store team, I’d like to extend our thanks to our loyal customer base in Fortunestown for their level of support over the past few months.”

To celebrate the reopening of the store, teachers and students from neighbouring Scoil Aoife were at the opening to collect a donation of €1,000 to go towards their school.
There will also be exclusive offers at Lidl Fortunestown over the next seven days, with a Family Fun Weekend running from today until Sunday, September 2.
