Local businesses showcase to global buyers

BUSINESSES from South Dublin had the opportunity to meet buyers from across the world as part of the recent Showcase Ireland event in the RDS.

More than 100 businesses from across the country took part in the event’s Local Enterprise Showcase, which included four businesses from South Dublin.

Local businesses included Jennifer Johnston (The Suss Edit), Sarah Power (Lucy and Me), Sharon Farren (Kokoro Zen Wear) and Finbarr Barry (Thomp2Socks).

The opportunity saw local businesses showcasing to more than 4,000 buyers from retailers across the globe, who attended the four-day event looking to secure new sales and partners for the year ahead.

Tom Rooney, Head of Enterprise South Dublin said that “The four businesses were extremely pleased with the opportunity to present at Showcase 2022 and reported really great interactions with buyers from Ireland and Internationally when we met them at Showcase. It was a great boost to their business growth for 2022 and beyond.

“These businesses put great work into the preparation of the products and stands and the quality of products on display were excellent.

“In addition to meeting buyers there was also great networking between the business owners themselves which is the added bonus of being back at live events again.”

Damien English TD, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment officially closed Showcase 2022 at the RDS on March 2.
