From ancient writings, we are given much about the Battle of Clontarf and the important men who fought, survived or died there.  Usually, little is recorded about their womenfolk.

Only occasionally are we given anything of the more important women, like Gormflaith ingen [daughter of] Murchadh mac Finn, King of Leinster.
