AN early morning photography club, which was created in Palmerstown, is growing in popularity but hope to entice more members online.

The Sunrise Club is a Facebook group, which operates out of Palmerstown Camera Club and was established in 2015 by Nina Butler, Trudy Fallon, Ann Murphy Gregg, and Frank Delaney.

“We decided to organise regular sunrise outings, and make them available to everybody,” said Frank, a member of Palmerstown Camera Club.

“Our desire was to provide a safe forum for photographers who wished to take images of the rising sun but, who were reluctant to go out alone to out of the way locations, at a very early hour.”

Monthly events were organised online at The Sunshine Club, in which groups of photographers travel to different and interesting locations to take pictures, and share their images.

“These events have proved extremely popular, and we are constantly on the lookout for interesting locations to visit, mostly up and down the Eastern seaboard but sometimes we can travel inland as well,” said Frank.

“Events are advertised on the Facebook page and everybody is welcome to come along all we ask is for people to be prepared to get up very early in the morning. The sunrise waits for nobody.”

At the moment, the club has a membership of almost 380 people, from Ireland, and overseas.
