Lorraine snaps up gold medal at awards event

A WOMAN who took up photography last year, picked up a number of medals at the Irish Photography Federation awards on February 18.

Lorraine Morris, from Drimnagh, represented Palmerstown Camera Club, at the event in the Talbot Hotel, Carlow.

“Lorraine joined the club in September after getting a camera a year ago, and decided to do our six-week course and learn about photography,” said Denis Brazil, PCC member.

“Well, it paid off last week as she won a gold medal for non-advanced mono and €50 voucher, a bronze medal in non-advanced natural world and received a silver medal for open colour print.  Many congratulations Lorraine from all of us In Palmerstown Camera Club. It certainly was a great achievement.”

Anyone interested in photography and meeting people, can join the group on Wednesday nights between 8pm-10pm in the parish hall, Kennelsfort Road, Palmerstown.
