Lose The Fear: Ellyd returns with second song
“IT’S a song about difficulties we all go through and how we can struggle internally to stay positive,” explains Lucan songwriter ELLYD (real name Elaine Doyle), who returns with her second single, ‘Lose The Fear,’ from her upcoming debut album.
The singer, who hit the top ten with her last offering ‘I Will Wait,’ is back with a new catchy, electric guitar-infused track.
According to Elly, the single is a taster of what is to come from her highly anticipated album ‘Tomorrow Be Kind,’ which is due for release later this year.
Speaking about how the song came about, Elly said it wasn’t a straightforward process. She said, “I rewrote the music for ‘Lose the Fear’ at least three times.
“Initially, it was intended to be a piano ballad, but I soon realised the music needed a more intense energy to represent the message.
“When I began experimenting with the drums and electric guitar in particular, the song took shape and evolved into what it is today.
“I feel it carries a slight vibe reminiscent of 90s Irish rock.”
She added, “At its core, the song reflects the struggle of facing difficulties and the mental battle to stay positive, to be present, and to have faith that things will improve.
“This track is the fourth on my debut album, which is set to be released in September, and it’s definitely one of the more rock-oriented songs.”
Elly would like to thank her family and fans for their support, as well as Martin and Andrew Quinn and those at Jam Studios for encouraging her and helping her record the song.
‘Lose The Fear’ releases on all music streaming platforms on March 14, and her new album ‘Tomorrow Be Kind’ will release on September 5; be sure to keep an eye out!
