Luxury caravan stolen in Germany recovered in Tallaght

GARDAI recovered a top of the range caravan in Tallaght on Thursday – three years after it was first reported stolen to authorities in Germany.

The Premium Caravan – listed as the luxury class model by it’s German manufacturers Hobby – was recovered by detectives in the Tallaght District Unit in Cloonmore on Thursday evening.

According to the Hobby Premium brochure, the caravan features a dazzling array of high class items, which are all part of the package including a shower, splash back kitchen, oven, 150-litre super slim refrigerator and underfloor heating.

The luxury interior contains six separate seating areas, most of which can be transformed into comfortable sleeping berths, including room for a queen-sized bed, drop down double beds, single beds and children’s bunk beds.

German auto dealers are advertising 2019 Premium Hobby caravans for sale up to €31,970.

A Garda spokesperson told The Echo: “Gardaí in Tallaght carrying out routines checks, on Thursday, July 4, at approximately 4.30pm, in the Cluain Mor Park area of Tallaght, seized a caravan which had been reported stolen in 2016 in Germany. No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing.”
