Man (36) arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking

A MAN has today been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, following the seizure of drugs worth an estimated €230,000 on Friday, April 2.

Last Friday, in the course of ongoing investigations targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime, personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau conducted a search at an address in the Clondalkin area.

The operation was supported by the Garda Dog Unit and the Stolen Motor Vehicle Unit. 

According to gardai, three kilogrammes of cocaine and one kilogramme of cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €230,000 was seized in the course of the search. 

In a statement released today,  a Garda spokesperson said: “On today’s date 7th April 2021 as part of this organised crime related operation, one male suspect, aged 36 years, was arrested on suspicion of involvement drug trafficking and is currently detained, pursuant to the provisions of section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Ronanstown Garda Station”.
