Man (20s) charged with drug seizure in Tallaght

A MAN is due in court today charged in connection with the seizure of an estimated €70,000 worth of cocaine in Tallaght over the weekend.

According to a Garda statement issued, officers seized €70,000 worth of suspected cocaine following a search at a Tallaght location on Saturday, November 11.

The search was conducted by the Dublin Crime Response Team.

Gardai said: “During the course of the search, approximately 1 kilogram of suspected cocaine was seized, with an estimated value of €70,000, along with two Rolex watches, and drugs paraphernalia.

“The drugs will undergo analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI)

“One man, aged in his 20s, was arrested and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda station in the Dublin area.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

In a follow-up statement, gardai confirmed that the man arrested had been charged in connection with the seizure.

The man is due to appear before Tallaght District Court on the morning of November 13.
