Man accused of sexually assaulting woman in Clondalkin

A MAN appeared in Cloverhill District Court this week, accused of false imprisonment and sexually assaulting a woman, and holding another woman against her will at knife-point during separate incidents in Clondalkin.

Slawomir Gierlowski (31) with an address at Galtymore Road, Drimnagh, is charged with false imprisonment of a woman and sexually assaulting her on a date last September.

Mr Gierlowski, who is from Poland, is also accused of assault, causing harm to another woman, and falsely imprisoning her at the Knockmeenagh Lane/ St Brigid’s Cottages area of Clondalkin on May 16 last.

Gierlowski was applying for bail this week before Judge Gibbons at Cloverhill District Court.

He had an interpreter provided for him during the proceedings, which have been put back for two weeks, and Gierlowski will appear before the court again on August 16.

A number of residents from Knockmeenagh appeared in the gallery during court proceedings on Tuesday morning to support the local woman who was attacked.
