Man allegedly struck another male with poker is remanded

A MAN who allegedly struck another man with a poker has been remanded for a plea or date for hearing by Blanchardstown District Court.

Judge David McHugh had previously accepted jurisdiction in Karl Davidson’s case.

Davidson, aged 44, with an address at Arthur Griffith Park, Lucan, is charged with assaulting a named male causing him harm at the above address on June 16, 2017.

The court had heard it will be alleged there was an argument between Davidson and another man and the injured party had received a punch to the face.

The injured party allegedly picked up a poker to defend himself and then he was struck with the poker.

The injured party had allegedly received some lacerations to his face.

Davidson’s counsel asked Judge McHugh to make an order for disclosure.

Judge McHugh said he would be looking for a plea or date for hearing. He said he had previously accepted jurisdiction and “matters must proceed”.

He remanded Davidson on continuing bail for three weeks for a plea or a date for hearing.
