He has also been charged with four counts of producing a hatchet during the course of a disturbance at Cherrywood Park, and with five counts of making a threat to kill another named female at Cherrywood Park all on February 9, 2017.

Garda Thomas Connolly said Oumessaoud made no reply when charged with the new offences. He said the DPP had directed trial on indictment.

The court had heard it will be alleged that Oumessaoud threatened his partner with a hatchet and then ran out onto the street waving the hatchet and threatened a witness.

Judge McHugh remanded Oumessaoud on continuing bail for four weeks for service of the book of evidence.
